Ngala Beach Lodge is situated on the Northern Lakeshore, one of the finest of the Lake Malawi hotels. Approximately 3 hours drive or a 50min flight North of Lilongwe between Salima and Nkhata Bay. We will welcome you to our luxury accommodation and friendly personal service with awe inspiring views of both the lake and the Vipya Mountains.

We provide our guests with a “home from home” atmosphere coupled with the highest levels of service and healthy, tasty, home cooked meals in our restaurant. Our friendly trained staff will attend to your every need.

Ngala Beach Lodge​ Accommodation

The spacious rooms will ensure comfort, luxury and privacy. Accommodation is provided in tastefully, individually decorated en-suite Executive Rooms and Deluxe A Framed Chalets. Each room has a large bedroom, a comfortable covered private sitting area and en suite bathroom. In addition to our double and twin rooms, we have family rooms available.

De Luxe Cottage

These cottages overlook the lake and have direct access to the beach Three (3) x Deluxe Cottages – Two of the Cottages are either TWIN OR DOUBLE accommodation, whilst the third Cottage is a family cottage which comprises two separate sleeping areas (King-size Bed and two single beds) and a large lounge/sitting area.

Executive Chalets

The Executive Chalets and Executive Family Chalets are situated behind manicured lawns with lush gardens overlooking our infinity pool to the lake beyond. Six (6) x Twin or Double Executive Chalets and Two (2) x Executive Family Chalets, which comprise two separate sleeping areas (King-size Bed and two single beds).

Camping and Dormitory Accommodation

We have a well-maintained, lawned and shady campsite adjacent to the beach, as well as dormitory facilities, both with access to an ablution block with hot showers. Campers may use an electrical extension, if required, for a nominal fee.

Dining @ Ngala Beach Lodge

The restaurant is open from 6:30am until 9pm. We offer superb healthy and tasty "home cooked" cuisine for all meals and in addition, we host pizza nights on Wednesdays. The pizzas are cooked in a clay pizza oven in the dining room, offering an intimate and warm atmosphere.

Try our local bread and dinner rolls made especially for us by a baker in our village and the fresh lake fish and various local fruits. Our nearby farmers produce most of our vegetables from seeds supplied by ourselves which are delivered fresh daily. We are also happy to provide meals to satisfy any guest’s special dietary requirements but may require advance notification. For groups of six or more, beach barbeques can also be arranged.

We have a fully stocked bar which is open till 10:00pm. The bar is located in the main lodge building adjacent to the restaurant and guest lounge.

Activities @ Ngala Beach Lodge​

At Ngala excellent facilities are on offer. Swimming in the new infinity pool or in the lake is offered. The last test showed an absence of Bilharzia in the water on the main beach. Lazing around on the beach, in the beach bar or beside the pool is also considered by some to be an activity.  Other activities include:  Swimming, walks, beach volleyball, boat cruises, bird watching and nearby: golf, horse riding, scuba diving.
